This Privacy Policy explains how MGworx LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information through Selio (“the Service,” “the App”), our product recommendation application for Shopify, and through our website at www.selio.ai (“the Website”).

Selio is a business-to-business service for Shopify merchants. In providing the Service, we also process personal data of end customers (shoppers) on behalf of merchants. This policy covers both audiences.

Information We Collect

From Shopify Stores

When you install Selio, you authorize us to access certain data through Shopify’s APIs and webhooks. This includes:

Store information — shop domain, name, timezone, currency, access credentials, and store configuration.

Product information — product titles, descriptions, types, prices, images, variants, options, and collections.

Customer information — name, email address, phone number, address (city, country, postal code), locale, and marketing consent status.

Order and purchase information — order details, line items, quantities, prices, and purchase history.

Cart and checkout information — cart and checkout contents, including products, variants, quantities, and prices.

Information Generated by the Service

We generate and store additional data in the course of providing the Service, including product classifications, product and customer data representations used for recommendation matching, recommendation content, and performance metrics (such as views, conversions, and revenue attribution).

From Our Website

When you visit www.selio.ai, we collect information about website usage through analytics services (such as Google Analytics). This information may include identifiers and device data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, referring website, and general geographic location.

We may also collect information you choose to provide to us through the Website (for example, if you submit a form or request information), such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.

From the Selio Merchant Dashboard

We use analytics services within the Selio merchant dashboard to understand how merchants interact with the App and improve the user experience. This analytics data is associated with your store and does not include your end customers’ personal information.

How We Use Your Information

To provide the Service — we analyze your product catalog, process customer purchase data, generate and display product recommendations, and track recommendation performance.

To improve the Service — we use data to train and refine our machine learning models, develop new features, debug issues, and monitor system performance.

To communicate with you — we send service-related notifications and respond to support requests.

On behalf of merchants (for shopper data) — we process shopper data to personalize product recommendations based on purchase history and shopping behavior.

For website analytics — we analyze website traffic to improve our Website content and marketing.

AI and Machine Learning

Selio uses artificial intelligence and machine learning, including third-party AI services, to analyze products, identify complementary relationships, and generate personalized recommendations. As part of this processing:

We send product data (such as titles, descriptions, prices, and images), customer purchase history (products purchased, prices, and purchase timing), and limited store identifiers (such as your shop domain) to third-party AI service providers for analysis and recommendation generation.
We do not send customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses to AI service providers.
Under our agreements with AI service providers, your data is not used to train their general-purpose models.

We may change AI service providers as needed to provide and improve the Service.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate Selio. These include:

Cloud infrastructure providers — for hosting, data storage, and compute
AI service providers — for machine learning inference and product analysis
Application monitoring and logging providers — for tracking and resolving technical issues. These services receive technical error data and store identifiers. Our application logging service also captures AI inference request and response data (which may include product data and purchase patterns, but not customer names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses) to enable troubleshooting of recommendation quality issues.
Analytics providers — for usage analytics on www.selio.ai and the Selio merchant dashboard
Shopify — as the platform through which we access store data and process billing
Email marketing platforms (optional) — if you connect a third-party email marketing service (such as Klaviyo) through the Selio dashboard, we will share certain data with that service to deliver product recommendations via email. This may include customer email addresses, recommendation content, and offer details. You control whether to enable this integration, and your use of the connected marketing service is also subject to that service’s own terms and privacy policy.

All service providers are contractually required to protect your data and process it only for the purposes we specify.

When you follow links from our Website or the Service to third-party websites or services (such as scheduling tools for booking demos), your interaction with those services is governed by their own privacy policies.

Data Storage and Security

Our primary infrastructure is hosted in the United States. Some of our service providers may also process data in other regions.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of data in transit, encryption of sensitive credentials, access controls, and per-merchant data isolation.

No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security breach affecting personal data, we will notify affected parties and applicable regulators as required by law.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain merchant and customer data for as long as the Service is installed and the data is needed to provide the Service.

When a merchant uninstalls Selio, we anonymize or delete all identifiable store data (including store identifiers, customer personal information, and access credentials) within 30 days of receiving Shopify’s shop data redaction request, in accordance with Shopify’s requirements.

When a customer data redaction request is submitted through Shopify, we anonymize or delete all personal data associated with that customer (such as name, email, phone, and address) within 30 days of receiving the request.

When a customer data access request is submitted through Shopify, we provide the requested information within 30 days.

Anonymized and aggregated data — data from which all personal identifiers (such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, IP addresses, and store identifiers) have been removed, such that it cannot reasonably be used to identify any natural person — may be retained indefinitely for purposes including service improvement, research, model training, analytics, and benchmarking.

We may also retain certain data beyond normal retention periods where required by law.

Your Rights

For Merchants

You may access your data through the Selio dashboard, request a data export, or request deletion by uninstalling the App or contacting us.

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict processing, data portability, object to processing (including objecting to automated decision-making), withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Automated decision-making: Selio uses AI and machine learning to generate product recommendations automatically based on purchase history and product data. These recommendations influence which products are displayed to shoppers but do not produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on individuals. You may contact us or the merchant to inquire about or object to this processing.

For end customers (shoppers): Your primary data controller is the merchant (the store where you made your purchase). Please contact the store owner first. You may also contact us directly at info@mgworx.com.

Legal basis for processing: We process personal data based on contract performance (providing the Service), legitimate interest (improving the Service, ensuring security), and consent (where applicable).

For California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to: know what personal data we collect, request deletion, request correction, opt out of sales or sharing of personal information, limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

We do not sell or share personal information (as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act), including for purposes of targeted advertising.

Exercising Your Rights

For all privacy and data protection inquiries, contact us at info@mgworx.com. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days (or sooner if required by applicable law). If you request data portability, we will provide your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.

Cookies

On www.selio.ai and within the Selio merchant dashboard, we use analytics services (such as Google Analytics) that may place cookies on your device to measure traffic and usage patterns. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Where required by law, we obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

Within Shopify storefronts, Selio uses Shopify’s standard session management. We do not place additional tracking cookies on shopper browsers.

Children’s Privacy

Selio is a business-to-business service intended for Shopify merchants and their authorized users, and you must be at least 18 years old to use Selio as a merchant user.

As part of providing the Service, we may process personal data of shoppers on behalf of merchants. We do not knowingly target the Service to children or knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). Merchants agree not to submit personal data of children under these ages through the Service. If you believe personal data of a child has been provided to us in a way that is not permitted by applicable law, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.

International Data Transfers

Our primary infrastructure is in the United States. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other regions. When personal data of individuals in the EU or UK is processed outside those regions, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and recognized data transfer frameworks where applicable.

Data Processing Agreement

Our Data Processing Agreement (“DPA”) governs the processing of personal data under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws such as CCPA. The DPA is incorporated into the Terms of Service and applies automatically when you use the Service.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice via email or through the Service before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
